This Thanksgiving holiday was quite possibly the most adventurous one we’ve had yet.
My little brother (in law, I claim him as my own though) had to work on Thanksgiving, so we drove up to see him. There were all kinds of bumps along the way, but at the end of it all the most important part was being together and serving one another in our flexibility. One concern I have for American culture is our desire to have what we want when we want it. The heart of it is our desire for control. We often neglect the needs of others in light of our own passions to gain control. We also miss the opportunity to be blessed by recognizing the beauty of what we do have. The things around us, our current situations, and even the tradtions we make are not what define us. May you have a restful season of gratitude and peace during this typically busy month.
Happy Start to the Holly Jolly Season,
“Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts.” Acts 2:46
